1963-1966        chief power engineer, chief of the technical department of the Zasobovani teplem Ostrava,
1966 - today     VSB - Technical University of Ostrava,  Head of the Department of Electric Power Engineering.

• Energy Problems of Electrical Heating Equipment.

He is a lecturer in the doctor's degree studies in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the VSB - Technical University of Ostrava, where he has brought up 30 candidates of sciences (CSc.) and doctors (Ph.D.).

Scientific activities

Scientific work is focused on electrical power engineering.

He has been working in the special committee of the U.I.E. international union since 1978, where he is highly active in publishing and contributions during international congresses U.I.E: Warsaw (1972), Moscow (1977), Cannes (1980), Stockholm (1984), Malaga (1988), Montreal (1992), Birmingham (1996), and European congresses Florence (1987), Bournemouth (1989), and Leningrad (1989), Warszaw (1996), Krakow (1997), Poznan (1998), Tai-Pei(2000), Lisbon (2000), Oslo (2001), Rhodos (2002), Ganeswille, Florida (2004), Banalmadena (2005), Gaberone (2006), Phuket (2007), Beijing (2008), Grand Canaria (2009).

He was the Chief applicant of the project Grant Agency of the Czech Republic named „Research of the Reliability of Electric Distribution Plant“.

Publications

He has published 148 qualified articles in magazines and conferences in his country and 38 abroad. He is a joint author of the nation-wide textbook „Electrothermal engineering" 1985, and an author of Technical book: Electrical heat equipments INEL Praha 1997, and  4 scripts on Electrical power engineering.
